For the oneswho keepGoingSan Antonio catastrophic injury & wrongful death lawyer

Something changed your life, and it wasn't your fault. Maybe it happened in a wreck, or on an oil rig. Maybe it was a company that cut a corner it swore it never would. Either way, the people responsible already have lawyers on retainer, working to protect themselves. Most people don't realize that until it's too late. So the sooner you've got somebody in your corner, the better this tends to go for you.

I'm ready when you are. Call or text, and you won't reach a call center or a screener. You'll reach me, Guy. My clients have my direct cellphone number, because I actually want them to use it.

Free consultation. No fee unless money is recovered in your case.

If this is you

If the injury changed everything, you're in the right place.

I handle the serious ones. The 18-wheeler that didn't stop. The rig that wasn't maintained. The stairwell that should have been fixed months ago. The night a family got the worst phone call of their lives. If someone else's carelessness broke your life, or took someone from you, this is exactly what I do.

Not sure your situation fits? Call anyway. If I can help, I'll tell you, and I'll be proud to do it. If I can't, I'll say that too, and point you to someone who can.

What this is about

The company has lawyers on retainer. The insurance company has software that puts a number on your pain. They've done this a thousand times. This is your first time.
You should have somebody who knows exactly how they think.

I spent years as a company lawyer. I know the playbook, because I helped write some of it.

Why me

I read the contracts they hide behind.

Before I started this firm, I worked the other side of the table. In-house counsel, then general counsel (the top lawyer inside a company). Boardrooms, risk decisions, mergers, and the paperwork that decides who pays when somebody gets hurt: master service agreements, indemnity clauses, insurance stacks. I took the minutes in the rooms where those calls get made.

Most injury lawyers have never seen that side. I lived there. So when a company tells me nobody's responsible for what happened to you, I usually know where to look.

We've got firepower. Through my association with The Stewart Law Firm, PLLC, my cases run with a full litigation backend: case managers, paralegals, co-counsel attorneys, and the funding to carry a catastrophic case for as long as it takes. Waiting you out is the other side's favorite move. With us, it's a bad bet.

First, breathe

You are not alone in this.

If you're reading this from a hospital room, or at your kitchen table at 2am, I want you to hear one thing. You didn't do anything wrong by looking for help.

You don't have to know whether you have a case. You don't have to know what it's worth. You don't have to have the police report, or the insurance letters, or the right words. That's my job.

Call me or text me and tell me what happened. I'll listen. I'll give you straight answers, even the hard ones. And if I'm not the right lawyer for it, I'll help you find the one who is. The conversation costs you nothing.

You talk to me, Guy. From the first call on.

What it costs. Nothing today, and nothing upfront, ever. I work on contingency: my fee is a percentage of what's recovered, and it comes out of the recovery, never out of your pocket. If there's no recovery, you owe me no fee.

The Oilfield Guide

The guide the companies would rather you never read.

If you or your family works the oil patch, I wrote something for you. The South Texas Oilfield Injury Guide covers Chapter 95, master service agreements, workers' comp and non-subscriber rules (when an employer opted out of workers' comp), and what to do in the first 30 days, all in plain English. It's free, there's no email wall, and it was built to help you whether you ever call me or not.

Common questions

Straight answers.

What should I do first after a car wreck in Texas? +

Make sure you're safe and get medical attention if you need it, even if your injuries don't feel serious yet. Some injuries hide for days. After that, avoid giving statements to insurance companies until you understand your options. Early statements can affect your claim later, often in ways people don't realize at the time. If you're unsure what to do next, a short conversation can tell you where you stand.

Will this cost me anything upfront? +

No. I handle injury cases on contingency, which means you pay nothing upfront and no hourly fees. My fee is a percentage of what's recovered, and it comes out of the recovery. If there's no recovery, there's no fee.

Do I really need a lawyer for this? +

Sometimes you don't, and I'll tell you when that's the case. But once insurance companies are involved, the process stops being neutral. A conversation early on can show you the risks you may not be seeing yet, and it costs you nothing.

What happens after I hire you? +

I take over communication with the insurance companies, help coordinate your medical care and documentation, and start building the case properly from day one. You'll know what's happening, what comes next, and why each step matters. No guesswork, no chaos.

How long does a case usually take? +

Every case is different. Some resolve in months, others take longer to develop properly. Rushing usually benefits the insurance company, so I focus on the timing that supports your best outcome, and I keep you informed the whole way.

What if the insurance company is already calling me? +

That's common, and it's usually on purpose: they want a recorded statement before the full picture is clear. You aren't required to give one right away. Talk to somebody whose job is protecting you first.

If your question isn't here, ask me directly. Every situation deserves a real conversation.
